Pamela Howard, Boutique Owner

Pamela graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Design. Her creativity expanded into another of her passions, fine foods, pastries and especially dark chocolates. Beginning in her 20’s she started Sweet Meats, a pastry and catering business in Las Vegas, Nevada. Recognized for her unique skills in design and the food industry she was offered a position with an international company selling giftware and gourmet food and within a year became the Western Regional Sales Manager. In addition to her sales and management duties, Pam designed retail store and trade show displays.

Her professional experience shifted after graduating from New York Chiropractic College in 1996 to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. Shortly after graduating from Chiropractic College, she married her sweetheart , Naval Officer Craig Howard. His duty assignments took them to live in Germany and Italy where they explored many things but especially pastry and chocolates shops! Pam was able to expand her culinary skills by attending pastry and cooking schools in France, Germany and Italy.
She is currently the owner of Advanced Thermal Imaging, where she provides a health screening service utilizing thermal imaging. She is able to help others in their journey for health by providing resources and references to clients wishing to achieve optimal health.

Opening Exquisite Chocolates of Carlisle is a continuation of her professional journey, one that goes back to her roots in gourmet foods.

Craig M. Howard, Boutique Co-Owner

Craig discovered the wonder of Belgium chocolates while serving a two year church mission based in Brussels. He enjoyed the culture there so much that he attended post graduate medical school at the University of Brussels, Belgium. If you ask him what his favorite place is for chocolates he will tell you, “It’s Belgium, especially Neuhaus.” He is fluent in French and has working proficiency in five other languages. Craig received an undergraduate degree in International Relations and French from UCLA and an MBA graduate degree in International Healthcare Policy and Planning from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management in Arizona.

Craig served nearly 27 years with the US Navy and retired in January 2012 as a Navy Captain, Medical Service Corps (MSC). His MSC specialization was a Plans Operations Medical Intelligence (POMI) officer.

His 32 years of combined military and civilian work history has seen significant work and project leadership experience in emergency/consequence management, international affairs / complex humanitarian and disaster response efforts, marketing and business model risk assessment and analysis, managed healthcare operations, exercise planning, medical intelligence, and WMD / CBRNE terrorism preparedness and response. His last federal civilian assignment was served as the Director of Emergency Plans at the National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD prior to his retirement in 2015.

Being a co-owner of Exquisite Chocolates featuring Neuhaus chocolates brings a bit of Belgium to Central PA.
